Soil Health Card Scheme
Free soil testing and a card with crop-wise nutrient and fertiliser recommendations for every farm holding.

About this scheme
Launched on 19 February 2015, the Soil Health Card scheme tests farm soil for 12 parameters: N, P, K, Sulphur, Zinc, Iron, Copper, Manganese, Boron, pH, Electrical Conductivity and Organic Carbon. Cards are issued on a cycle so farmers can track soil health over time and correct nutrient imbalance. Since 2022-23 the scheme runs as a component of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana - Cafeteria. A revamped Soil Health and Fertility component supports village-level soil testing labs, including labs run by rural youth and SHGs.
