Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY)

Voluntary contributory pension of Rs 3,000 per month after age 60 for small and marginal farmers.

About this scheme

PM-KMY is a voluntary and contributory old age pension scheme launched on 12 September 2019 for small and marginal farmers, administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare with LIC as the fund manager. A farmer entering at age 18 contributes Rs 55 per month and one entering at 40 contributes Rs 200 per month; the Central Government makes an equal matching contribution. Farmers already enrolled in PM-KISAN can opt to have their contribution deducted from their PM-KISAN instalment, so no separate payment is needed. On the death of the pensioner, the spouse receives 50% of the pension as family pension.
