PM-KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan)
Subsidy for solar pumps, solarisation of grid-connected pumps and decentralised solar plants on farmland.

About this scheme
Administered by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, PM-KUSUM de-dieselises the farm sector and gives farmers an additional income stream from solar power. Component A supports decentralised ground-mounted solar plants of 500 kW to 2 MW on barren or cultivable land. Component B supports standalone off-grid solar agriculture pumps up to 7.5 HP. Component C supports solarisation of existing grid-connected pumps, individually or through feeder-level solarisation, allowing farmers to sell surplus power to the DISCOM.
Benefits
- Central financial assistance of 30% of benchmark cost (50% in North Eastern states, hill states and island UTs)
