PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY)

District-focused agriculture programme converging 36 central schemes in 100 low-productivity districts.

About this scheme

Approved by the Union Cabinet on 16 July 2025 and formally launched on 11 October 2025, PMDDKY is India's first national district-focused agriculture scheme. It runs for six years from 2025-26 to 2030-31 with an annual outlay of Rs 24,000 crore and is expected to benefit about 1.7 crore farmers. It converges 36 existing central schemes across 11 departments along with state schemes and private-sector partnerships, rather than creating new benefits. The 100 districts were selected on three indicators: low crop productivity, low cropping intensity and low short-term credit disbursement, with at least one district from every State and UT. Each district forms a District Dhan-Dhaanya Samiti that prepares a District Agriculture and Allied Activities Plan, monitored monthly against 117 KPIs on a central dashboard.
