Umbrella scheme assuring remunerative prices to farmers through price support, price deficiency payment and market intervention.

About this scheme

PM-AASHA was announced in 2018 and restructured in 2024 by merging the Price Support Scheme (PSS), Price Deficiency Payment Scheme (PDPS), Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) and Price Stabilisation Fund (PSF) into a single umbrella. PSS procures pulses, oilseeds and copra at the Minimum Support Price through NAFED and NCCF. PDPS pays the farmer the difference between the MSP and the actual selling price for oilseeds. MIS covers perishable horticultural crops not under MSP. The goal is to protect farmers from distress sales when market prices fall below MSP.

Who can apply

  • Farmers growing notified crops in states where the scheme is implemented for that season
  • Registration on the state procurement portal before the notified date
  • Sale must be made at a designated procurement centre or notified mandi
  • Quantity limits per farmer as notified by the state

  • Registration slip or token from the procurement portal

How to apply

  • 1Register on the state procurement portal or at the designated procurement centre
  • 2Get land and crop details verified against revenue records
  • 3Obtain a token or slot for delivery of produce
  • 4Deliver produce at the procurement centre; quality is assessed as per FAQ norms
  • 5Payment credited to the bank account within the notified period
