National Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM)

Support for scientific beekeeping, honey testing labs, processing units and Integrated Beekeeping Development Centres.

About this scheme

NBHM was launched in 2020 under the Atmanirbhar Bharat package to promote holistic growth of the beekeeping industry, increase crop pollination and support the 'Sweet Revolution'. It is implemented by the National Bee Board under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. It funds Integrated Beekeeping Development Centres, honey testing laboratories, disease diagnostic facilities, processing and storage units, a digital traceability system for honey (Madhukranti portal), and training and capacity building of beekeepers.

Aadhaar card
Registration certificate of the entity where applicable
Project proposal with cost estimates
Bank account details
Land or premises documents for processing units
Training certificate where applicable

How to apply

1Register on the Madhukranti portal of the National Bee Board
2Submit the project proposal to the state implementing agency or the National Bee Board
3Proposal appraisal and sanction by the executive committee
4Implement the project and submit progress and utilisation reports
5Assistance released in instalments
