Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM)

Self Help Group based livelihood mission with revolving fund, community investment support and bank credit for rural women.

About this scheme

DAY-NRLM, launched in 2011, mobilises rural poor households into Self Help Groups and their federations, and builds their capacity for sustainable livelihoods. It provides a revolving fund, community investment support, and access to bank credit at subsidised interest. The mission also runs Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana for women farmers, Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme, and the Lakhpati Didi initiative to help SHG women reach an annual household income of Rs 1 lakh or more.

Who can apply

  • Rural poor households identified through the Participatory Identification of Poor process
  • Priority for SC, ST, single women, women-headed households, persons with disability and landless households
  • One woman member per household to join the Self Help Group
  • SHG must be at least six months old and follow Panchasutra norms for the revolving fund

Documents required

  • Aadhaar of all SHG members
  • SHG bank account passbook
  • SHG registration and resolution
  • Ration card or BPL proof where applicable
  • Caste certificate where applicable

How to apply

  • 1Join or form a Self Help Group in the village with 10-20 women members
  • 2Group maintains regular savings, meetings and internal lending for six months
  • 3SHG is graded by the Block Mission Management Unit
  • 4Revolving Fund and Community Investment Fund are released on grading
  • 5SHG applies to the bank for credit linkage
